Kamloops 7 Chilliwack 4

For the second consecutive night, the Bruins were defeated by the Kamloops Blazers, dropping a 7-4 decision in Kamloops Saturday night. With the loss the Bruins season record now stands at 22-22-3-1, good for eighth spot in the Western Conference.

Ivan Rohac and Brandon Campos exchanged first period goals as the two teams were tied at one after twenty minutes of play. Kamloops outshot Chilliwack 15-8 in the opening frame.

Scott Wasden and Alex Rodgers scored the only two goals in the second period, giving the home team a 3-1 lead after two periods of play.

Three goals in a span of 2:01 early in the third period by Evan Pighin, Nick Holden and Brandon Campos gave the Bruins a 4-3 lead. The Blazers tied it just two minutes later than rattled off three more goals to earn the 7-4 win.

Kamloops outshot Chilliwack 41-34. The Bruins were 2/5 on the power play. The Blazers were 2/6. Mark Friesen took the loss in goal for Chilliwack. Justin Leclerc went the distance in goal for Kamloops.

The Bruins next action is Sunday when they host the Spokane Chiefs. Game time is 5pm.

Ice Chips: Bruins Captain Nick Holden returned to the lineup after missing Friday's game with the flu...not in the lineup for the Bruins were Partik Bhungal (leg injury), Cody Smuk (shoulder injury) and Matt Meropoulis (hand injury)...16 year old forward Ryan Hankin made his WHL debut with the Bruins tonight...the Bruins set a team record for fastest three goals when Evan Pighin, Nick Holden and Brandon Campos scored within a 2:01 span in the third period.
